About Me...
Hi! My name is Mrs. Lee and I am the art instructor at SKY Academy Venice. I am a mother of two amazing Garden Gators, the wife of a fabulous Sarasota County 4th grade teacher, and...that's right, lover of all things artistic! I love dragonflies, octopuses, creating, traveling, the beach, and new experiences and adventures.
This is my 13th year teaching art, but my first in Florida. I am very excited to see the SKY Art program blossom and am looking forward to watching my students grow and shine artistically in the coming school year.
Art is unique because it allows each individual to express his or her personal voice, yet at the same time speak a language understood by all. I believe the arts are essential to a well-rounded education. As an art educator, I strive to teach a curriculum that emphasizes art history, aesthetics, and art criticism in addition to studio practices. I aspire to develop a program that has significance to my students. I try to collaborate with other faculty members to create a program that integrates material from other subjects and also experiences from my students’ daily lives, making them more personally invested in their art. My ultimate goal is to have all my students leave my class with a love in their heARTs for the ARTs!
